Other Travels | You Can Too! | About Me

As we travelled along the Amazon River from Peru to Columbia, we passed many small villages. Sometimes we stopped to visit and other times not. But always people would come to greet us, either just to be friendly or to try to sell us hand-made crafts.

If you're interested in more details about this trip down the Amazon River, you can read my Amazon travelogue.

I hope you enjoy my photos of the Amazon River.

These were some of the floating homes we saw on the Amazon River in Peru.

I think we were entertainment for these young girls near one of the villages along the Amazon River. I guess when there's no TV, it doesn't take much to be entertained.

Sometimes women would row their boats out to ours and try to sell us their handicrafts. It's really pretty interesting what these people could make from the raw materials they had available to them. Necklaces from nutshells, dyed with natural colors, pictures painted on the inner barks of trees, carefully peeled and dried to lie flat. Ah, well, everyone needs to make a living one way or another.

These long narrow motor boats served as transportation from village to village.
