Cusco resides in a scenic valley in the Andes Mountains at 3326 meters above sea level. It's a small enough city that you can walk from end-to-end if you're very fit. The city is the gateway to the Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, and other Incan ruins of the Urubamba Valley. And it's a pleasant enough town to visit in its own rite.
