Sacsayhuaman is a set of Incan ruins just outside of Cusco. If you've acclimatized to the elevation, it's possible to walk here from Cusco in less than an hour. Many buses and tours go there as well.

Sacsayhuaman was once an Incan fortress, with an estimated 5000 warriors. The site was built in the shape of a Puma's mouth. The zig-zag walls being the teeth of the Puma. The stonework that makes up these walls is very impressive, with huge stones cut into complex shapes that fit together like jigsaw pieces - but with seemingly impossible precision.

I hope you enjoy my photos of Sachsayhuaman.

It's estimated that some of the stones weigh up to 300 tons. They fit together so precisely, that a knife blade doesn't fit into the seams, even when the stones have been cut with curved corners.

Some of the local women do their weaving here and try to sell their crafts to the tourists that visit.
