Ollantaytambo, Peru is another village in the Urubamba Valley, which is also known as the Sacred Valley of the Incans. There's a very impressive set of Incan ruins here that rise up from the edge of the town. It's here that the Incans had their single victory in battle against the invading Spaniards in 1536.

I was very impressed by the buildings the Incans made on sheer cliffs overlooking this town. Also, there is a very impressive sculpture of an Incan man's face here - probably several stories tall - on the same sheer cliff.

I hope you enjoy my photos of Ollantaytambo, Peru.

The back streets of Ollantaytambo are little more than narrow alleys for walking. Many of these stone-lined streets are designed with a recessed ditch for water drainage.

Ollantaytamo, Peru is a pleasant little village. There are clean, inexpensive hotels available here for people that want to spend a little time exploring the ruins.
