Sometimes women would row their boats
out to ours and try to sell us their handicrafts. It's really pretty
interesting what these people could make from the raw materials they had
available to them. Necklaces from nutshells, dyed with natural colors,
pictures painted on the inner barks of trees, carefully peeled and dried to
lie flat. Ah, well, everyone needs to make a living one way or another.
